A Half-Day Workshop for New Water & Wastewater Utility Managers
This half-day workshop gives new and aspiring managers in the water and wastewater utility sector the foundational supervisory skills and mindset shift needed to lead confidently from day one. Participants will build core people-management capabilities, learn the fundamentals of supervision, and explore the shift from individual contributor to leader: walking away with a practical toolkit for handling the everyday realities of managing a team in a highly regulated, operationally demanding industry. Through focused discussion and real-world scenarios, attendees will leave equipped to lead with confidence and purpose.
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Apply the fundamentals of supervision, including setting expectations, giving direction, and building accountability.
- Use foundational communication techniques to build trust and credibility with their team.
- Recognize common new-manager pitfalls and apply strategies to avoid them.
- Identify the core mindset shifts required when moving from individual contributor to supervisor.
