All Things Ductile: Pipe, Valves, Hydrants & Fittings with Best Practices (#2026-25)
This course provides an overview of Ductile Iron Pipe, including applications, handling, installation, and testing. Participants will also learn valve, hydrant, and fitting installation best practices, troubleshooting, and specialty valve selection, with a hands-on demonstration.

VSS, D1, & T1 Certification Exam Preparatory Course: 3-Day (18-Hours) (#2026-22)
This course prepares students for the VSS, D1, and T1 drinking water operator exams by covering small water system operations, including sampling, wells, distribution, storage, treatment, reporting, regulations, and essential water math. Participants will gain practical knowledge and skills to support exam success and earn upto 18 TCH credits for attending.

From Peer to Leader: A Half-Day Workshop for New Water & Wastewater Utility Managers (#2026-23)
This half-day workshop prepares new and aspiring water and wastewater utility managers with the essential supervisory skills to lead confidently from day one. Participants will learn the fundamentals of supervision, strengthen communication and accountability skills, and make the transition from individual contributor to effective leader.

EPA Water/Wastewater Cybersecurity Assessment Course (WCAT) (#2026-26)
This course introduces water and wastewater professionals to the EPA Water Cybersecurity Assessment Tool (WCAT) and its role in strengthening utility cybersecurity. Participants will explore cybersecurity risks and regulatory drivers, learn how WCAT aligns with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and gain practical experience completing the assessment, interpreting results, and developing action items and strategies for continuous improvement.

SCADA Cybersecurity: Threats, Mitigations, & Regulatory Readiness (#2026-27)
This practical course introduces SCADA and OT cybersecurity for small and rural water and wastewater utilities. Participants will learn about common cyber threats, real-world incidents, practical security measures, and regulatory expectations, including preparation for MassDEP cybersecurity-related sanitary surveys. The course focuses on actionable strategies to reduce risk and strengthen cybersecurity in typical utility environments.

The Association provides training seminars all around the State of Massachusetts on various water and wastewater topics. We are developing an extensive training program including water and wastewater operator training, certification exam preparatory courses, operations and maintenance training, safety, and much more. All of our courses are MassDEP approved for water and/or wastewater TCHs for license renewals.
Please email us with any training ideas and suggestions. We will review all recommendations and consider them when planning future classes. If you would like your facility to be added to our host list, please let us know.
Would you like to have MassRWA conduct technical training at your facility?
We can offer your facility the convenience and efficiency of on-site contract training. This program will allow you to target your staff’s specific needs, such as certification, safety, operations and maintenance, and administrative. We will work with you to develop a program of classes that are most suited to your educational and financial needs.

VIRTUAL CLASSES: ZOOM
Classes may be held either In-Person or Virtually using the Zoom platform, however, the vast majority of our classes have shifted back to In-Person classes.
For virtual classes, all participants will need access to a computer, tablet, or smartphone that has Zoom videoconferencing software installed, and a good internet connection. If you don’t yet have Zoom, you can sign up and download here.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
Individuals registered for one of our training classes, seminars, and/or conferences (such as Fee-Based courses or the Trifecta) will be charged the class fee if we have not received notice of cancellation at least 48 hours prior to the beginning of class. Anyone contacting MassRWA to cancel enrollment in a training session will receive a cancellation number. In the event of an emergency, which would prevent attendance, please contact MassRWA as soon as possible with the details. If you are not able to make it to a class you have registered for, please let us know asap, so we may notify the next person from the Wait List. If you do not show, forget, or have double booked yourself, you will be charged the full priced without prior cancellation.

Registration and attendance at, or participation in, MassRWA’s meetings, trainings, and other seminars constitutes an agreement by the attendee to MassRWA’s use and distribution (both now and in the future) of the attendee’s image or voice in photographs, videos/videotapes, electronic reproductions, and audio files/tapes of such events and activities. This includes permission to record streaming events.
