Part-Time Laborer – Municipal Water Utility
The North Dighton Fire District Water Department is seeking a part-time laborer to assist with operations in a municipal drinking water system.
This position offers hands-on experience especially suited for a student or recent graduate interested in a career in drinking water systems, public works, environmental engineering, plumbing, etc.
Responsibilities include:
•
Assisting with residential water meter installation and replacement
•
Collecting water meter readings and field data
•
Performing water service line material identification (lead, copper, galvanized, etc.)
•
Supporting basic field documentation and system records
•
Some building/yard maintenance required
•
Performing other related tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
•
Current enrollment in, or recent graduation from, a plumbing, environmental engineering, drinking water, public works, or related program
•
Interest in municipal water systems or utility operations
•
Ability to perform outdoor field work
