This course provides drinking water operators with essential knowledge of water metering systems and leak detection practices. Topics include meter types and applications, proper installation and maintenance, accuracy testing, and replacement planning. Participants will learn how data analytics supports revenue assurance, identifies usage outliers, and informs asset management decisions on aging equipment.
The course also covers communication technologies such as AMR, AMI, and customer portals that enhance data collection and customer engagement. Leak detection will be explored through traditional methods, lift-and-shift practices, and emerging smart technologies. By course end, operators will understand how to optimize meter performance, use data for decision-making, and apply modern leak detection strategies to reduce water loss and improve system efficiency.
Class will be held In-Person. To allow for adequate training time for each participant, we will be watching registrations closely and begin a Wait List, if needed. Registration is on a first come first served basis.
