Water Storage Tank Design & Challenges, featuring a Site Tour

Overview: This course will discuss the basics of water storage tank design and considerations to avoid potential pitfalls. This course will also discuss design challenges experienced during the Greylock Glen Water System Improvement Project. Lastly we will provide an in depth understanding of bolted, glass-fused-to-steel (GFS) water storage tanks.

VSS, D1, & T1 Certification Exam Preparatory Course: 5-Day
August 13, 14, 20, 21, & 22, 2024 (#2024-22) - Blandford, MA
Overview: This entry-level course introduces students to the basic principles of drinking water treatment and distribution systems, processes, and operations. This course will also cover common math problems and how to solve them.

Training Notes:
1. Class Registration is on a first come first served basis. Please register online asap as classes fill up quickly.
2. Typically, we will reserve 5 seats for people of small systems (<10,000 population served) and need a minimum of three small systems to register for classes. Any remaining seats, of these 5, will be filled from the Wait List in the order in which they were received. Participants will be made known if they are on the Wait List, and if they are moved to the active roster. Please don't hesitate to contact Jason should you have any questions.

The Association provides training seminars all around the State of Massachusetts on various water and wastewater topics. We are developing an extensive training program including water and wastewater operator training, certification exam preparatory courses, operations and maintenance training, safety, and much more. All of our courses are MassDEP approved for water and/or wastewater TCHs for license renewals.

Please email us with any training ideas and suggestions. We will review all recommendations and consider them when planning future classes. If you would like your facility to be added to our host list, please let us know.

Would you like to have MassRWA conduct technical training at your facility?
We can offer your facility the convenience and efficiency of on-site contract training. This program will allow you to target your staff's specific needs, such as certification, safety, operations and maintenance, and administrative. We will work with you to develop a program of classes that are most suited to your educational and financial needs.

Classes may be held either In-Person or Virtually using the Zoom platform, however, the vast majority of our classes have shifted back to In-Person classes.

For virtual classes, all participants will need access to a computer, tablet, or smartphone that has Zoom videoconferencing software installed, and a good internet connection. If you don’t yet have Zoom, you can sign up and download here.

Individuals registered for one of our training classes, seminars, and/or confereces (such as the Trifecta) will be charged the class fee if we have not received notice of cancellation at least 48 hours prior to the beginnning of class. Anyone contacting MassRWA to cancel enrollment in a training session will receive a cancellation number. In the event of an emergency, which would prevent attendance, please contact MassRWA as soon as possible with the details. If you are not able to make it to a class you have registered for, please let us know asap, so we may notify the next person from the Wait List.

Registration and attendance at, or participation in, MassRWA's meetings, trainings, and other seminars constitutes an agreement by the attendee to MassRWA's use and distribution (both now and in the future) of the attendee's image or voice in photographs, videos/videotapes, electronic reproductions, and audio files/tapes of such events and activities. This includes permission to record streaming events.
