LIHWAP Explained

The Low Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) is being offered through the FY21 American Rescue Plan Act and Consolidated Appropriations Act. This program provides assistance to eligible household in paying arrearages (past due bills) and rates shared to the household for drinking water and/or wastewater services. The priority is to ensure that households whose services have been disconnected due to non-payment, or are about to be disconnected, are able to have their services restored as quickly as possible. Join us as we explain this new program for your utility. We will provide an overview of the program, including where the funds come from and eligibilty/threshold requirements and limits. We will discuss the application process, next steps moving forward, what to expect during the process, and payments. Please join us to have your questions answered and move your system closer to collecting payments on arrearages.

Class will be In-Person. Class size varies by location. To allow for adequate training time for each participant, we will be watching registrations closely and update this page if we need to begin a Wait List for any of the locations. Registration is on a first come first served basis.
