VSS, D1, & T1 Certification Exam Prep Course: 5-Day (#2024-22)


Approximately 90% of New England's drinking water systems - about 10,000 systems - are small and most use ground water sources. Small systems provide drinking water to less than 3,300 people while very small systems provide it to less than 500 people.

Join Mass Rural Water Association for the best operator certificatio training around! This entry level course introduces students to the basic pricnicples of drinking water treatment and distribution systems, processes and operations. This course will also cover common math problems and how to solve them. In addition, the course is designed to prepare students for the State of Massachusetts Very Small System (VSS) and Class I Treatment and/or Distribution operator certificateion exams.

This course will utilize the ACR Introduction to Small Water Systems textbook (
www.acrp.com). If you would like purchase your own book, please click the link above. Textbooks are approximately $60 each. However, MassRWA is happy to provide each participant with a free copy of the student manual, please indicate as such when registering.

Notes:
We will reserve the first 5 seats for people of small systems (<10,000 population served) and need a minimum of 3 small systems to register for this class.

At a Glance...
Day 1: Introduction to drinking water systems, biological & chemical characteristics of water, and basic math review & practice part 1
Day 2: Water hydraulics, electrical baics, and basic math review & practice part 2
Day 3: Introduction to water sources, water treatment and water math practice
Day 4: Distribution systms, pumping systems, and water math practice
Day 5: Water system safety & security, EPA Safe Drinking Water Act, management considerations, and water math practice

Instructor: Tom Bahun II, - Tom's Water Solutions
Mr. Bahun is the co-founder of Tom's Water Solutions, having spent most of his 30+ year career working with water/wastewater professtional. He has served inmany roles and most of his experiences revolve around workplace safety, emergency preparedness, technical assistance, and training. Tom is a Certified Instructional Trainer (CIT), holds a Maine Class IV Water Treatment and Distribution Operators license, and a Grade 5 Wastewater Treatment Operator license. He is best known for his exceptional and straightforward training abilities helping many water and wastewater professionals with their educational needs.

Cancellation Policy:
Individuals registered for one of our training classes, seminars, and/or conferences will be charged the class fee if we have not received notice of canellation at least 48 hours prior to the beginning of class. Anyone contacting MassRWA to cancel enrollment in a training session will receive a cancellation number. In the event of an emergency, which would prevent attendance, please contact MassRWA as soon as possible with the details.
