Electrochemical Generation for Water Treatment-A Technical Briefing

What is on-site generation?

You may be familiar with the fundamental principles which make this technology possible, namely the electrolysis of salt water solutions, which have been known for decades. On-site generation uses a solution of sodium chloride (salt) and fresh water as feedstock. When electricity is applied to the feedstock, a disinfecting oxidant solution is produced. Electrochemical generation has a number of applications for disinfection and can be a cost-effective way to replace chlorine gas, bulk sodium hypochlorite, calcium hypochlorite, chlorine dioxide, bromine, glutaraldehyde and other traditional boicides.
